Verio offers a number of things that many other hosts don't offer - perhaps the best of these is their 99% uptime guarantee. In June 2000 SiteOwners experienced some downtime (about 30 minutes in a month), and as a result of that, were offered July's hosting for free to make up for the downtime.

The slightly higher prices than most other hosts offer you the peace of mind that you need as a webmaster... you shouldn't have to worry about your site going down at any time. The plans they offer can cater for any site. Features included in some of their plans include ASP, PHP, Perl, and Cold Fusion Scripting Capabilities and mySQL and MS SQL Database Servers. They are suitable for all sites ranging from simple HTML based sites to large database driven sites.

If your site is too big for shared hosting, then they can cater for you as well. They offer various different types of dedicated server, running different Operating Systems. These include Linux, WinNT/2000, and Cobal RaQ servers. These servers are totally customisable to suit your needs entirely, so if your site(s) gets a lot of traffic then a dedicated server is a very good idea.

If you choose a dedicated server, then you can choose to either let Verio manage tasks such as OS upgrades etc, or you can do them yourself if you have the ability. Verio will perform admin tasks on your server for reasonable hourly rates, these can be reduced if you use one of their montly support plans, these are a set number of hours for support/admin tasks.

In conclusion, Verio is a very good choice for your website hosting needs. They can cater for sites of any size and complexity, and their 99% uptime guarantee really does make it worth paying the little extra that Verio charges for their hosting over their competitors.
